'Embossed PVC' and 'Flock Finish on Ceramic' exhibited at MoOD '17

Material exploration played a big part of my final year studies, which has continued through to my way of working after graduating.

Chosen by Colour Hive in collaboration with Material Lab to be exhibited at the MoOD Innovation Platform in Brussels from 6-8 September, were the 'Embossed PVC' and 'Flock Finish on Ceramic'.

The look of the 'Embossed PVC' plastic pressed into a linear grid can appear cold and stiff, but when touched is flexible and rubbery.

​

Electromagnetically flocked ceramic tiles produce a juxtaposition of soft and hard, and coldness and warmth. The green flock gives the impression of a mossy surface.
